Han Ximin 1824295095@qq.com THE Satellite Hall of Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport will be put into operation before the end of November, the airport authority said Friday, after the terminal’s second comprehensive drill. Compared with the first drill, the second drill was a real-time drill that tested all the terminal’s resources and facilities in addition to simulations of passenger departures and arrivals, luggage and cargoes, and the whole operations process including ground services. Designed to handle 22 million passengers a year, the X-shaped satellite hall has 56 boarding bridges and upon operation, departing passengers who have completed their check-in and security checks at T3 can take the underground fast transit system to their designated boarding gates at the satellite hall. Arrivals will need to go to T3 for luggage claim. The luggage transit system, equipped with RFID and ATR, is fully automated and can transport the luggage to T3, which is 1.7 kilometers away, in 3-4 minutes. |
