Translated from the English term “digital natives,” this is a concept first raised by American author Marc Prensky in 2001. In contrast to “digital immigrants,” the “natives” are generations who grow up in an era where the internet is widely used in every aspect of our daily life. This demography, those usually born after the 1990s, is surrounded by digital technology and therefore familiar with smart phones, computers and games. These people are inclined to be multitasking, reading on screens instead of books, and seeking frequent updates of information.
