TENS of leading enterprises from Shenzhen will showcase their cutting-edge technologies during “Shenzhen Day,” which is scheduled to be held from Jan. 11 to 13 at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Arrangements for the three-day event were revealed by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen) at a press conference yesterday.

A launching ceremony will be held and livestreamed simultaneously in three venues — Shenzhen, the Dubai Expo’s China Pavilion, and Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Building — on Jan. 11.

In the three days, the Shenzhen Products Show will be held at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Building.

With the theme “Shenzhen Design, Shenzhen Intelligent Manufacturing and Shenzhen Quality,” the show will display three key sectors, including consumer electronics, life and health, and intelligent security.

Over 50 famous Shenzhen companies will display more than 350 high-tech products.

An online platform has been created for the event, where exhibiting companies and their products can be viewed in advance at https://app.meetby.net/shenzhen.

In another exhibition on scientific innovation, representative high-technology enterprises of Shenzhen, such as BGI Genomics, Intellifusion, Appotronics and iDreamSky, are expected to display their flagship products in AI, 5G intelligent communications, cloud technologies, advanced materials and software development at the China Pavilion.

Apart from flexing the hard power, Shenzhen will also showcase its soft power during the expo through intangible cultural heritage performances and Qipao fashion shows.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai, the first to be held in the Middle East, has been postponed and is being held from Oct. 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

The theme for this expo is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” The expo has attracted exhibitors from 192 countries.
