Pork prices go up

SHENZHEN’S consumer price index (CPI), an inflation gauge measuring costs across various items, dropped by 0.2 percent in December from a month earlier and rose by 2 percent year on year, according to the Shenzhen survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Compared with the previous month, December’s vegetable and freshwater fish prices have declined 9.9 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively, as supplies increased. Pork prices rose by 2.7 percent due to seasonal increased demand.

Cold air

THE temperature in Shenzhen is expected to decrease by 3 degrees Celsius today and tomorrow due to a new wave of cold air heading south from the north, according to Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

The city is likely to witness partly cloudy skies and light rain today and tomorrow, cloudy and cooler weather in the morning and evening Wednesday and Thursday, and showers Friday and Saturday.
