Dunhuang art, cloisonné

Four life-sized Mogao cave replicas with mural reproductions all over their walls and ceilings have been set up at an exhibition until March 20 for visitors to get an immersive view of the magnificent Dunhuang art. Impressive Buddha statues, Central Asian coins, silk products, pottery and mural replicas are also on display. Another exhibition running until Feb. 16 showcases modern Chinese cloisonné works provided by the Beijing Enamel Factory.

Amber and porcelains

Amber stones are on display at until March 10 for visitors to admire the hidden gifts presented by nature. Magnifiers are provided at the exhibition. Meanwhile, another exhibition of Chinese imperial porcelains from the 15th century is also being held until April 10.

‘The Pixel World’

“The Pixel World” (89 yuan), an exhibition authorized by the British Library, is being held in Shenzhen until March 15. The exhibition gives a glimpse into the library’s precious collections and brings their stories to the public. Visitors can admire reproduced manuscripts of beloved fairytales and novels.

Light show

A light show now decorates UpperHills with installations designed by Chinese artist Xu Minqi. The show, with themes on endangered animal protection and ecological balance, features installations shaped as whales, white rhinoceroses, a tiger, an octopus and more. The light works not only echo the city’s ocean culture, but also create a joyous and dreamy atmosphere.
