Court issues SZ’s first family education order
    2022-01-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Bao’an District People’s Court on Monday issued Shenzhen’s first family education order to demand a father fulfill his responsibilities as a guardian to his daughter after the country enacted its first family education law Jan. 1, sources from the court said.

A girl surnamed Liao was molested when she was in her sophomore year in junior high school and was under 14 years old that time.

The court observed that this has something to do with her father’s dereliction of his duties and thus issued the order to offer the daughter legal protection.

The girl moved out to live on her own after her father was remarried.

The girl was diagnosed with medium-level depression and supported herself only with the money her father gave her each day. She started smoking, dating online and has an irregular daily schedule.

The father confessed his negligence and promised to fulfill his responsibilities to help his daughter get her studies and life back on track.

The court’s judges helped mediate the relationship between the father and daughter on site and urged them to communicate more for mutual understanding.

The court said that ensuring the protection of minors is their guiding principle when handling cases involving underage children.
