Construction of expressway connecting HK half done
    2022-06-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

An aerial view of the Liantang Checkpoint area (in the center of the picture) and under-construction Shenzhen East Transit Expressway on Friday. The expressway project is more than half done, according to its builder, China Railway 4th Bureau. The 32.2-kilometer project starts from Liantang Checkpoint in Luohu District — a land crossing facility between Shenzhen and Hong Kong (A fenced borderline can be seen south of the checkpoint area) in eastern Shenzhen — and ends at Jinqian’ao Flyover in Longgang District. Upon completion, the expressway is expected to serve a new “golden passage” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, facilitating exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland, and boosting the development of eastern Shenzhen.Xinhua
