THE trip between Shenzhen and Beijing along the Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway will be cut by 26 minutes from today. This is due to the trains on the Beijing-Wuhan section that will have a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

Under the new high-speed train operation schedules that take effect today, Shenzhen North Railway Station will open or optimize six pairs of trains, with four high-speed pairs including G82/1 running between Shenzhen and Beijing, and G1623/6 and G1625/4 between Guangzhou and Fuzhou. Train G6133 from Changsha to Guangzhou will be extended to Shenzhen, sources from Shenzhen North Railway Station said.

In addition, a pair of trains will run between Shantou and Zhangjiajie, with the trip taking 9 hours and 20 minutes.

The new schedule for Guangzhou-Shenzhen  Railway will have 56 pairs of intercity trains on weekdays, 59 on weekends and 63 during holiday peak days. There will also be three pairs of trains a day running nonstop between the two cities. The trains are C8001, C8003 and D7551 departing Guangzhou at 7:03 a.m., 6:25 p.m. and 7:23 p.m., and C8002, C8004 and D7552 depart Shenzhen at 7:00 a.m., 5:58 p.m. and 10:16 p.m.

Starting today, Shenzhen Railway Station will operate 107 pairs of trains, with 18 pairs along the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Railway, 63 pairs on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway, five pairs of cross-line trains and 11 pairs of long-distance trains.

A total of 267.5 pairs of trains will run along the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Link, 161 pairs on the Hangzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway and 101 pairs on the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway.
