Bus terminal

WENJINDU Passenger Bus Terminal in Luohu District will be closed June 30, the district’s transport authority said.

The coach station, located at the intersection of Wenjin South and Yanhe roads, was put into use in December 2006. It covers an area of 12,000 square meters and was designed to accommodate 466 passenger buses and serve 12,000 passengers a day on average. Its services cover regions including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Hunan.

The terminal was the first stop for many people when they first set foot on Shenzhen over the past 16 years. In recent years, however, airplanes, high-speed trains, private cars and app-based vehicles have eroded the market share of the road transport industry, which has also seen a sharp decline in passenger traffic due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
