    2022-09-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A staffer with Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau tests a drone before directing it to inspect power lines in the photo released yesterday. Shenzhen has recently been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to be a pilot area of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) aviation, which will bring new opportunities for the development of low-altitude economy.  The UAV industry in Shenzhen generated an annual output of 60 billion yuan (US$8.71 billion) in 2021. The city is home to more than 1,200 UAV manufacturers.
