AMONG dozens of foreign delegations to the annual China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), the Czech delegation has brought new products and technologies in the fields of high-end manufacturing, clean technology and scientific instruments to showcase its technological strength.

TESCAN, a leading Czech-headquartered micro- and nanotechnology company in Europe, is attending CHTF for the first time. The company has decades-long history of developing innovative electron microscopy, micro-computed tomography and related software solutions.

“We’re glad to attend the CHTF and have the opportunity to showcase ourselves at this year’s event,” said Ling Shen, marketing supervisor of TESCAN China. According to Shen, TESCAN has nearly 70 clients in China, including many Chinese universities, research institutes, companies and test centers.

“We hope to further increase our presence and enhance publicity through the fair because we attach great importance to the Chinese market,” Shen said.

ŠKODA, one of the world’s oldest car makers with origins dating back to 1895, is presenting its KODIAQ GT model, the brand’s first-ever SUV-coupé featuring state-of-the-art connectivity and innovative advanced driver-assistance systems.

According to a staffer from the automaker at the fair, who declined to be named, the new model offers a host of advanced driver-assistance systems, including active ACC, a WLAN connection, Apple CarPlay services and Baidu Carlife.

Since 2010, the Chinese market has been the biggest outlet for ŠKODA cars. In 2020, the car manufacturer delivered 173,000 vehicles to China, according to data disclosed by the company.

Another Czech company, FN-NANO, focuses on nanotechnology for a healthy and clean environment. Their main products, which are functional coatings, enable surfaces to “self-clean,” preventing the formation of microorganisms as well as cleaning the air of harmful substances.
