THIS year marks the 14th consecutive year that Belgium has participated at the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), one of the most important tech events in China.

“Having been here for 14 years, we can say that we have a longstanding relationship with CHTF, and we are happy to look back at many successful cooperation in the past. We see that despite difficulties in traveling, CHTF is taking more initiatives to connect to the international scene,” said Mattias Debroyer, trade and investment commissioner representing the Brussels Capital Region.

Belgium’s exhibition booth at this year’s CHTF, operated by hub.brussels and Flanders Investment & Trade, mainly showcased Brussels’ support on sustainable economy, sustainable entrepreneurship, and digital development to facilitate related business cooperation.

“We expect to promote cooperation in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship via this year’s CHTF. Brussels is actively transitioning to sustainable economy and sustainable entrepreneurship, and has several industrial clusters and incubators to provide business guidance, resource docking and funding opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of sustainable development, with a focus on the circular economy, sustainable buildings and clean technologies for urban transportation,” Debroyer said.

In addition, two excellent Brussels-based professional service providers and three successful investors from China are participating in the exhibition.

“They are ready to provide professional advice on integrating useful resources, building an effective network and more to Chinese enterprises that are interested in further expanding their business in Europe and those who are in the field of facilitating exchange between Brussels and China,” Debroyer said.
