THE Fourth China Design Exhibition & Public Art Thematic Exhibition will be open to the public Feb. 16 and will last until March 16 at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning and the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Futian District, according to a press briefing yesterday.

A virtual exhibition will also be unveiled shortly. Online visitors can access the exhibition through the two museums’ official WeChat accounts, or web channels offered by relevant media outlets.

The exhibition, a national-level design and public art exhibition, is held every three years. It seeks to develop a national-level professional and comprehensive platform that gathers and exhibits the most recent Chinese design and public art works.

Themed “New Start New Wave,” this year’s exhibition will be divided into two parts: the main exhibition and the Bay Area special exhibition, each with five sections. The whole exhibition will highlight the significant role that design and public art play in supporting national strategies, advancing social development and enhancing people’s lives.

The Bay Area special exhibition, which is set up for the first time, is intended to better serve the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through design and public art.

A total of 122 samples and over 1,300 pieces/sets of works covering fine arts, art, science, technology and other fields will be displayed both online and offline.

Academic forums and public cultural service activities such as guided tours will also be held.
