Popular singer Selina returned to Taipei and was admitted to the Linkou branch of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei on Sunday night after being burned during the shooting of an explosion scene for a TV drama series in Shanghai. She was now out of danger, had regained consciousness and taken food, said her father Jen Ming-ting. But she would need skin grafts and recuperation, said Jen. He thanked Selina’s friends and fans for their concern. Selina is a member of Taiwan group, S.H.E. She was filming in Shanghai without the rest of the group. She received third-degree burns to her back, hands and legs and minor burns on her face when the accident happened on Friday. She was immediately admitted to a hospital in Shanghai, said her agent. The agent said the explosives had gone off earlier than scheduled although several tests of the explosives had gone smoothly without any problems. Accompanied by her father and fiance, Selina was taken back to Taipei Songshan Airport on a direct flight from Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai. She was scheduled to marry next April. Her fiance is a legal counsel at a major insurance firm in Taiwan. “Happy Boy” Yu Haoming, who stars in the series opposite Selina, was also seriously injured. He is in intensive care in a Shanghai hospital.(SD-Agencies) |
