Business city list Guangzhou has been named by Forbes China magazine as the best city for business on the Chinese mainland. Guangzhou knocked Shanghai off the No. 1 spot from last year, down to No. 2, according to the edition published on Sunday. Rounding out the top 10 were Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Beijing, Wuxi, Ningbo, Nanjing and Tianjin. Dalian fire A fire at an oil tank at Dalian’s Xingang Port, partly owned by PetroChina Co., was put out at 2 a.m. on Monday with no injuries or oil spilled, Xinhua reported, quoting an onsite work team. The fire started on Sunday afternoon when PetroChina workers were dismantling* the oil tank that had caught fire on July 16 and had leftover oil, Xinhua reported. Ceramic stamps The world’s first set of ceramic* stamps — 11 ceramic chips each 0.3 millimeters thick — was unveiled in Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province last Tuesday. A spokesperson for the China National Philatelic* Corp. said the company will release just 10,000 limited edition sets of the “World Expo National Ceramic Stamp.” Missing mainlanders The families of 19 Chinese mainland tourists missing after a landslide triggered by Typhoon Megi swept away their tour buses arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at about 9 p.m. on Monday. The tour group, from South China’s Guangdong Province, has been out of contact since October 21 after a landslide on the Suao-Hualien Highway on the island’s east coast.
