Hong Kong model-actress Angela Yeung, better known as Angelababy, has replaced Fan Bingbing in the role of Xiao Fengxian in the historical film “The Founding of a Party.”

    The film commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

    Xiao Fengxian was known for her romance with General Cai E in the 1910s. Hong Kong star Andy Lau plays the role of Cai.

    Fan has left the role to focus on another film, “My Way.”

    “The Founding of a Party” stars Liu Ye as young Mao Zedong, Chen Kun as Zhou Enlai, and Chang Chen as Chiang Kai-shek.

    It is scheduled for a 2011 release, in time for the celebrations of the Communist Party’s 90th anniversary.

    Last year China Film Group Corp. released “The Founding of a Republic,” which featured Chinese-language cinema’s biggest stars.

    Angelababy’s career began when she was spotted by Style International Inc. at the age of 17 and entered the modeling industry in 2007. She has starred in films including “Trivial Matters,” “Hot Summer Days” and “All’s Well, Ends Well 2010.”(SD-Agencies)
