English movies in November

    IN addition to “Harry Potter 7,” another four English-language movies will be screened in Shenzhen before giving way to Chinese movies in the winter and New Year movie season.

    Unstoppable (Nov. 9)

    Denzel Washington and Chris Pine star in this action thriller from director Tony Scott. Two locomotive operators team up to stop a runaway train filled with explosives.

    

    Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (Nov. 12)

    A computer animated 3D fantasy/adventure based on the first three volumes of the series “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” by Kathryn Lasky. Zack Snyder directs, with Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Helen Mirren, Joel Edgerton and Hugo Weaving voicing the characters. A group of kidnapped owlets take flight to save their kingdom from an ancient evil by locating the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

    

    Resident Evil: Afterlife (Nov. 16)

    3D science-fiction action with Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates and Wentworth Miller. It is the fourth installment in a series of film adaptations based loosely on Capcom’s survival horror video game series “Resident Evil.” In the film, Alice searches for and rescues remaining survivors of the T-virus outbreak, who team up against the head of the Umbrella Corp.

    

    Righteous Kill (Nov. 30)

    Jon Avnet’s 2008 thriller stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro as a pair of Big Apple police officers investigating a series of murders committed by a serial killer.(SD News)
