China wins women’s table tennis team title
    2010-11-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ON day four of the 16th Asian Games, China beat Singapore 3-0 in the women’s table tennis team final.

Singapore yesterday fielded Wang Yuegu in the first singles and the world No. 7 went down three games to nil to China’s world No. 8 Li Xiaoxia.

Feng Tianwei went up against current world No. 1 Guo Yan and also suffered a 3-0 defeat.

Singapore opted for veteran Li Jiawei in the 3rd singles, and the 29-year-old was unable to stop China’s winning momentum, going down 3-0 to Guo Yue.

This was the Singapore women’s third showdown with China this year.

Seven months ago in Moscow, Singapore beat China to be world champions.

Last month, China got their revenge by defeating Singapore at the World Team Cup tournament in Dubai.
