After a competition, we were selected to be special junior reporters for the Asian Games. On November 20, about 30 junior reporters from different schools and districts went to Guangzhou to experience the Asian Games. We were all very excited and had a lot of fun on that day. First we went to the Guangzhou Olympic Park, where we saw the Asian Games stadium and interviewed some volunteers for the Games. They said they were proud to be volunteers and hoped China would be stronger. Then we went to the South China Science and Engineering University. Mr. Xie, deputy president of the university, made a speech about the university and the Guangzhou Asian Games for us. After the speech, we asked him some questions and the professor gave us satisfactory answers. In the afternoon, we visited Guangzhou TV Tower which is the tallest tower in Asia and the second tallest tower in the world. We went to the middle of the tower and had an overall view of Guangzhou city. We were so lucky because we saw the torch flame of the Asian Games near the Pearl River. Finally we went to the Asian Games Village and interviewed the foreign athletes. We asked them many questions such as their impressions of Guangzhou and their expectations for gold medals. They were very friendly and very patient in answering our questions. They also gave us their signatures and had pictures taken with us. We left Guangzhou at 5:15 p.m. and we sang songs on the bus. What a happy and exciting day it was! |
