New movie roles?
    2011-01-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER is no longer the Governator. As such, he now needs a new job. He likely cannot go any higher in politics, especially since foreign-born citizens cannot be president (He was born in Austria on July 30, 1947). Therefore, fans wonder if Schwarzenegger will go back to his old job as action movie hero, and whether he really should.

The Web site Contact Music said on New Year’s Eve that the ex-governor was thinking about returning to acting. It claimed he told Variety that acting again would be easy for him, despite his long break from the screen.

Of course, Schwarzenegger hasn’t been completely gone from movies while in office. He had cameos in “Around the World in 80 Days,” “Terminator: Salvation” and most notably in “The Expendables” with Sylvester Stallone. However, the big question is whether the aging icon can plausibly be an action movie lead again.

In recent years, old actors have had big success — at least at the box office — in recapturing their action glory. “The Expendables” had Stallone and many other action icons team up, while Harrison Ford put on Indiana Jones’ hat again in summer 2008. However, their long-time fans weren’t all impressed, no matter how well they could still kill bad guys in their 60s.

However, Schwarzenegger has made a career out of defying the odds, as he went from bodybuilder to A-list star, then went into the governor’s chair. Whatever he tries next, whether it is in movies or politics, is bound to be something that no one sees coming.(SD-Agencies)
