QINGDAO Development Zone will build an “intelligent town” in the central city in the next five years featuring ubiquitous use of intelligent technology, Internet and the Internet of Things. Planned for a 33.7-square-kilometer lot, it would include a cluster of factories including three home appliance giants: Haier, Hisense and Aucma. The annual output value produced by the area’s home appliance and electronic industries is close to 60 billion yuan. The “intelligent town” will be built in the process of transforming and upgrading the traditional home appliance manufacturing industry. Being home to education, research and development, the “intelligent town” would comprise an industrial park for emerging industries and a modern service industry, an ecological area featuring park lands, as well as a residential area, according to Guo Jishan, director of the development zone office. In addition, the town would serve as home to industrial parks covering modern home appliances, intelligent information, service outsourcing and high-end tourism.(Li Hao, Song Tao) |
