 The Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is aiming to become a world-class industrial zone in five years, developing an important base in the global technology creative network and a regional technological and commercial center. The total production value of the main zone area in northern Jiaozhou Bay was estimated at 1.5 billion yuan, accounting for 90 percent of the total production value of the city’s high technology industry. In 2011, the zone will focus on introducing investments to promote the development of high-end industries and industrial upgrading. Project construction will focus more on quality and high-end facilities, while the service management will also be enhanced to meet industry needs. Apart from government investment, social capital will also be encouraged to take part in construction and investment and more business incubators focusing on product research and development will be built.
