THE city will build four new car parks and start preparations for another eight car parks this year. Three of the four car parks under construction will open this year.

    Two of the four new car parks will be on the eastern side of Zhongshan Park and at the intersection of Nanjing and Macao roads. Locations for the other two are still under discussion.

    Meanwhile, real estate developers will be asked to increase the size of parking areas in new commercial and residential buildings. Bomb shelters and unused land in the suburbs will be converted into temporary car parks in the future.
