Festival at Firewood Court
    2011-02-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FIREWOOD Court in Qingdao, a cultural street established more than a decade ago, is the birthplace of the city’s folk and opera culture.

During the Spring Festival, all the lanes on the street were decorated with paper-cutting works, red couplets and Chinese knots where many residents enjoyed the ancient architecture, local traditions, performances and snacks there. There were not only performances of Liu, Mao, and Lu operas and Beijing Opera on the street, but also magic shows and performances of folk songs and dancing.

To show the traditional festival traditions, the street also organized an exhibition of old photos taken during the previous Spring Festival holidays.
