THE organizing committee of the 2011 Sudirman Cup World Mixed Team Badminton Championship was established in Qingdao on Feb. 20.

    The establishment was a step forward in preparation for the Games, which are scheduled to be held from May 22 to 29 next year at Guoxin Stadium.

    The Games are expected to attract athletes from 34 countries and regions.

    China, the defending champion, will strive for its second round of four straight championships.

    A top international badminton competition, the biennial Sudirman Cup, beginning in 1989, is on a par with the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup.(Li Hao, Liu Changzhou)
