HISENSE Group has become the corporative partner of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) SEED Awards for the next three years. It is the first Chinese company to join in the network. The SEED Award is a component of the SEED Initiative program, which supports innovative and small-scale entrepreneurs worldwide who integrate environmental and social benefits into their business models. Choosing Hisense as the first enterprise partner was confirmation of the company’s “consistent views on creativity and a green economy,” said Achim Steiner, under-secretary general and executive director of the UNEP. The company planned to develop a green economy last year and took the initiative to make the international standards of energy-saving LED television. The company now hoped to help small and medium-sized enterprises to focus on green creativity by supporting the award. “More Chinese enterprises have started taking part in international public affairs, which has shown the power of Chinese enterprisers and has also enhanced Chinese enterprises’ global reputations,” said Liu Guangyuan, Chinese ambassador to Kenya. The SEED Awards will be announced in South Africa on April 15.(Wang Yuanyuan, Qingbao) |
