CONSTRUCTION work on Metro Line 2 will start next year and the line is expected to open at the end of 2016.

    Preparations for the construction have started. The project report was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission last year. Several other evaluation reports, such as environment evaluation, land evaluation and landscape evaluation have also been completed and handed over for approval.

    The advanced exploration work will start in March and the initial design will be finished this year.

    The first phase of Line 2 is 25.2 kilometers long, crossing areas including Liaoning Road, Taidong Road 1, Yan’an Road 3, Xianggang Road Central, Xianggang Road East, Shenzhen Road, Saoshan Road, Xiazhuang Road, and Jinshui Road.
