AN English-Chinese cuisine channel was launched recently in the United States, becoming the first 24-hour cuisine channel in that country. The bilingual channel was produced by Qingdao TV and American World TV and is available to an audience of more than 10 million in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Sacramento. The channel enables foreign audiences to learn about Chinese cuisine. A number of programs featuring traditional Chinese food were well received by local audiences during trial broadcasting. Qingdao TV launched a Chinese cuisine channel five years ago and it covers an audience of 60 million in 260 cities in the United States. (Jane Lai, Wang Ping) |
