THE city started occupational health checks recently and employees working in hazardous conditions will be given special checks by the work safety supervision bureau.

The half-year check will cover companies in areas such as mining, mechanics, asbestos products, smelting, cement, shoe-making, electronic products, decoration and furniture manufacturing.

Meanwhile, measures in occupational disease prevention, such as safety policies and training, protective equipment and employee management, will be checked.

The bureau will punish and expose disqualified companies.
