‘Magic spring’attracts tourists
    2011-03-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IN Taiqing Palace on Laoshan Mountain, there is a “magic spring” which supplies water for the more than 200 Taoists in the palace every day.

The spring has never run dry, even during drought. A large number of tourists are attracted every day, drinking the water and making wishes by the spring.

Duan Cungang, director of administration for the Liuqing Tourism Zone in Laoshan, said there had been many Taoists living to over 100 in the palace and their long lives were partly due to drinking the spring water every day.

Duan said the water was sweet and contained many healthy minerals.

There are many other springs on Laoshan Mountain, such as Jinye, Yuye, Longyan, and the Shenshui Spring, which means magic water.
