From February 26 to March 20, 15 of Japanese artist Nuit Sano’s recent abstract oil paintings and installations are on display at the He Xiangning Art Museum. With the guidance of the teachers from the Junior English Journalist Program, we visited the museum. At the beginning, I was confused and puzzled about the theme of the exhibition — “Bleu Nuit.” But the more I looked at the paintings, the more beauty I found in the artist’s works. Sano is president of the Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo. She used color, line, shape, texture, especially the color blue to show her hidden feelings and outlook of the world. It is said that one of the art works will be donated to the museum to commemorate late Chinese painter He Xiangning, who once studied in Joshibi University of Art and Design between 1909 and 1911. |
