A DOZEN technicians in Qingdao were selected as the “2010 Shandong Province Chief Technicians,” bringing the total number of the city’s provincial chief technicians to 45, according to a list issued by the provincial government.

    The 12 technicians include He Jianying from CSR Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd., Zhang Shengjie from Qingdao Hairun Water Group, Li Yuanchao from Qingdao Polytechnic and Li Xianjie from Qingdao Yanghe Group.

    They will receive subsidies of 1,000 yuan (US$152) per month from the government and will enter the city’s high-level professional database. They will attend training and other consultation activities organized by the city. They can also postpone their retirement if they want.
