The “Harry Potter” actor Daniel Radcliffe is leaving Hogwarts and starring in his first Broadway musical, a revival of the 50-year-old Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” For Radcliffe, this play will be his second Broadway appearance. As early as 2007, he made his stage debut in a revival of the 1975 Tony-winning play “Equus” after finishing the sixth film in the franchise -- “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” This time in “How to Succeed,” Radcliffe is going to play J. Pierpont Finch, a young window cleaner who, with the help of a Machiavellian guidebook, climbs to the top of a huge company while winning a girl’s love along the way. Audiences have been pleased with the news. “Everyone is going nuts for the show, online and in the theater,” said BroadwayWorld.com editor Robert Diamond. Meanwhile, David Yates, director of the last four Harry Potter films, gave high praise to the young actor. “Dan is an incredibly curious person,” Yates said. “He always pushes himself. He’s not one to sit quietly and do nothing.” (SD-Agencies) |
