French companies seek opportunities
    2011-03-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MORE than 30 well-known companies and organizations from France met with more than 40 Qingdao companies on March 22 for business negotiation.

The French companies included GDF Suez, Societe General Bank and Sanofi-Avenitis. The event was the biggest trading activity held between France and Qingdao in recent years.

The “Cities of Tomorrow” event, co-organized by the French Embassy in China and the French Chamber of Commerce, was first held in 2010, aiming at organizing trading activities for French companies in 28 selected Second Tier Cities in China from 2010 to 2017.

As of the end of February, French companies have invested in 86 projects in Qingdao with contracted capital of US$294 million. Among these, several projects, such as Qingdao Zhongda Chemical Fibre Co. Ltd., Rhodia Group and Carrefour, each had more than US$10 million investment in the city.
