Women’s football games to be held
    2011-03-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO will play host to China’s Four-nation Women’s Football Tournament next month.

April will also see the start of training for the 26-member Chinese National Women’s Football Team in Qingdao, who will take part in the Asian qualifier for the London Olympics in Jinan in September.

Led by Qingdao footballer, Li Xiaopeng, the team includes Yu Yahui, a Qingdao footballer who competed in the Guangzhou Asian Games.

The team had been at its lowest place in the world rankings, 15th. It ended in seventh place in the recent Algarve Cup.

The Chinese Football Association has not decided which countries will be invited to take part in the four-nation tournament.

Only North Korea, which stands at eighth place in the world rankings, has registered for the tournament.
