AN agreement has been signed to further push the development of the Ocean University of China.
The Ministry of Education, Shandong provincial government, the State Ocean Administration and the Qingdao government, will invest 450 million yuan on the university in the next three years, according to the agreement signed by the four parties. The State Ocean Administration has encouraged the university to apply or take up more marine science research projects. The stimulus agreement was aimed at improving the university’s standards in talent education, research and development, self-reliance innovation, social service and international competition. In addition, the agreement is expected to accelerate the university’s efforts to become a top international institution, as well as drive the construction of the marine economic zone in the Shandong Peninsula.
