Ancient village replica to be built
    2011-04-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CONSTRUCTION of a village in the ancient style will be completed on the banks of the Zhangcun River in the next two years.

The village will consist of one street, two rivers and seven alleys. The alleys will be named as Hexi, Heya, Shuangshan, Bao’er, Dashan, Huaguang and Xiaoqingshuigou.

Also, a total of 49 quadrangle courtyards in ancient China’s Ming and Qing Dynasties will be restored in the village, three of which have been completed.

More than 2,600 ancient stone sculptures from northern China, over 700 of which are stone lions, will be installed.

Other ancient buildings like Confucious temples, a traditional Chinese medicine clinic and small workshops will also be constructed.(Li Hao, Jiang Huili)
