Residence reform to be introduced
    2011-04-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

QINGDAO development zone is considering granting residency permits to people who have been living in the zone for more than one year.

With the residency permit, people from outside Qingdao are expected to receive the same treatment as those holding Qingdao hukou in fields such as education, medical care and employment.

In addition, people with a residency permit can apply to become permanent residents in Qingdao by accumulating a certain amount of points according to a specified index system.

Regulations concerning the new measure are expected to be released in the first half of this year.
