Bridge to be completed
    2011-04-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Qingdao Bay Bridge is scheduled to open to traffic before July 1.

Covering a length of over 36 kilometers, the bridge has been constructed at an investment of 8.66 billion yuan (US$132m).

Rails and expansion joints are being installed on the bridge, which is due to be completed by the end of May.

A total of 333 expansion joints will be installed to reduce the impact of temperature change on the bridge floor.

Plus, experts have been invited to give suggestions on the bridge’s painting, sculpture and lighting designs.
