    Introduction

Yongding Hakka Cutural Village, also known as Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, is a particularly compact cluster of earthen houses.

It includes five large circular buildings and 10 rectangular buildings. All building names share the common word “qing,” meaning “celebration” (such as Jiqinglou and Shengqinglou), which reflects the hospitality of the Hakka people.

Some of the house designs are unique, including the Zhenchenglou, (a magnificent building combining the Chinese style with the Western style), Fuyulou (Five-phoenix House), Kuijulou (a palace-style building) and Rushenglou (a miniature circular building).
