    Charity award

A homeless garbage recycler won the city’s Second Charity Award on Saturday because he had donated more than 4,000 yuan (US$607) to charity in two years.

The 35-year-old Li Yun collects recyclable material and lives in temporary accommodation at a construction site in Futian District.

Li started making donations to the Shenzhen Charity Association in 2008 in the hope of helping dropout students go back to school.
