A close look at ‘Spring Cocoon’
    2011-04-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

On April 3, a group of us junior journalists went to the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. Standing on the construction site, we could feel the pulse of history being made where we stood.

The sports center is better known as the “Spring Cocoon” because of its shape. It costs 2 billion yuan and covers an area of 330,000 square meters. The Spring Cocoon includes a stadium, a natatorium and a gymnasium. In less than four months, it will be ready to greet and welcome thousands of student athletes from all over the world with an amazing opening ceremony.

Besides, the staff told us that the sports center would be used for residential sports activities, leisure and some sporting events after the Universiade.

We sincerely hope that the coming Universiade will be a great success.
