Visiting Universiade Sports Center
    2011-04-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Shenzhen junior English reporters in front of the Universiade Sports Center.

On April 10, we junior English reporters visited Shenzhen Longgang Universiade Sports Center.

This new modern sports center has grown up in Longgang District, which is surrounded by green hills and rivers. It will be the main sports center of the 26th summer Universiade.

The facilities here are world-class, combining the wisdom and endeavor of city constructors and top design teams from home and abroad, and expressing the great expectation of the coming Games.

Miss Po, director of the construction department, led us to visit the main stadium and gymnasium in the center. She told us the most advanced construction technology had been applied to the sports center.

In the main stadium, it provides 60,000 seats, but we can not see any pillars in the stadium. Although the sun was scotching and everybody was dripping with sweat when we were outside, we felt cool and comfortable in the stadium even without any air-conditioning apparatus. That’s really amazing!

From this visit, I get to know more about the 26th Universiade and the Longgang Universiade Sports Center. I am looking forward to the coming Universiade.
