WHAT is the most popular getaway at the moment? Of course it’s an escape to a rural lifestyle in a beautiful and well-facilitated holiday resort without any noise or disturbances, just clean air and fresh food.

    Nanshan Mountain, Hainan Province

    It is said in this place, there is no TV, telephone or broadband. There is only a basic but comfortable bed and the sound of the sea which is only about 10 meters away.

    Unlike in many other Sanya resorts, you can live like the Ewoks in “Star Wars,” in beautiful tree houses of different sizes and walking by avenues between various species of tree.

    There are many such small houses built by an American company. Although life here seems primitive, there are numerous modern facilities to meet your desires, such as insect-resistant living rooms, modern toilets and open-air bars.

    As the tree houses are only about 10 meters away from the sea, reading a book and drinking beer on the large balcony is the perfect choice here. A twilight walk with your lover or your family is a romantic alternative to being stuck in a busy, modern metropolis.

    Transport: Fly to Sanya in Hainan Province at the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. Take a taxi to Nanshan Mountain.

    Erhai Lake,

    Yunnan Province

    Qinglu by the Erhai Lake in Dali, Yunnan Province was originally the home of a famous painter Zhao Qing and it now has become a perfect place for a quiet and healthy getaway.

    Built on a rock of the Yuji Island in Erhai Lake, the Bai nationality-style house used materials such as grey bricks of the minorities, iron and glasses. There is a courtyard, a balcony, a port and a glass passage in the house which is the best place to practice yoga or just sit and enjoy the view.

    Interestingly, most of the furniture in the house was built from wrecks in the lake, which makes the house a special and unique place full of artistic inspiration.

    There are only five guest rooms in Qinglu for travelers and you are expected to behave like a guest when there. For example, smoking and drinking are not allowed in the room and you must take your shoes off on entering the house. Meat is also not an option here, but all travelers can enjoy healthy meals and the traditional Chinese medicinal treatment provided by the house.
