QINGDAO will invest more than 40 billion yuan in its harbor and aviation industries, including the building of 29 key harbors and a new airport. The international sailing transaction center will be put into use soon. Twenty-seven berths will be added at the Dongjiakou Harbor. In 2015, the harbor’s throughput will reach 450 million tons, increasing by 26 percent on 2010. In the next five years, construction of harbors and berths will be sped up, aiming at becoming a key logistics hub in Northeast Asia and potentially on a global level. Planning and construction of the new Qingdao international airport will also be sped up, becoming a regional hub in Shandong Peninsula and neighboring cities. (Wang Yuanyuan, Li Xiaohan) |
