THE supporting structure of Qingdao Bay Bridge has been finished, with 85 percent of its box beam completed, said the bridge’s project office May 4.

    Casting of the bridge deck at its widest spot has also been completed. The widest part of the deck, located at the Zhangcun River, is 52 meters wide. It is also the highest at 35 meters high, because it is connected to the Chongqing Road Flyover.

    A total of 3,000 cubic meters of concrete was used for the casting of the part.

    The main part of the bridge is scheduled to open in June.
