Taiwan soap actor Sun Xing held a news conference on Monday afternoon to brief on his drug-taking incident after 19 days of detention*, M1905.com reports.

    The popular actor bowed to apologize to the public and asked for forgiveness of his wrong-doing. With tears welling up a couple of times, the actor promised he will never take drugs again.

    The actor dismissed recent rumors of him listing Chinese celebrity drug-takers during the detention, saying those reports were nonsense.

    He also said the alleged death penalty or life sentence to be imposed* on him were groundless*.

    The actor was nabbed* at a get-together in a Beijing restaurant along with his girlfriend on April 22. Later a large amount of drugs were discovered at his home by the local police.

    Sun confessed his drug-taking habit of five years while in detention. The embarrassed star remarked that it was the last time he would talk about the drug use.

    Sun hurried away after the meeting without taking any further interviews.(SD-Agencies)
