THE participation of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in the cultural industry fair will help strengthen the fair’s influence overseas. It will also play a vital role in exporting China’s cultural products and services, He Xuewen, president of CCIPT Shenzhen Sub-council, said in an interview. The major task of China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), the only national level cultural industry exhibition, is to help China’s cultural products “go global” by attracting more international buyers to purchase China’s cultural products and services. In this aspect, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council could play its role by relying on its connections and influences in international trade and business. At this year’s fair to be held from Friday to Monday, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council will organize five procurement and negotiation meetings in which buyers and exhibitors can familiarize themselves with each other. Last year, international professional buyers reached deals of 3.18 billion yuan (US$497 million), doubling transactions over the previous fair. It is known to all, CCPIT has extensive cooperation with enterprises and government agencies of different countries. It plays an important role and serves as the main channel for non government exchanges in investment, trade and cooperation. Though it is a non government agency, it helps handle investment and trade issues between countries, resolve business disputes and promote cooperation, making use of its connections and influence which stretch globally. With the integration of the global economy, the role of trade promotion agencies is becoming prominent. Trade promotion organizations in developed countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Singapore, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong have played a vital role in promoting trade and cultural exchanges in the region and improve enterprises’ competitiveness in the international market. “CCPIT and Shenzhen council could help upgrade ICIF to a higher level with their unique resources and advantages,” He said. Firstly, it provides an instant channel for domestic enterprises to establish connections with overseas cultural exhibitors and international buyers. It can also invite overseas government agencies, trade promotion agencies to participate in ICIF, and thereby, promote the international presence of ICIF. Secondly, CCPIT has 18 affiliates and agencies cover the European Union, North America, East Asia, Africa and Latin America. The agencies can help ICIF to attract international exhibitors. In the cultural fair last year, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council invited 410 agencies from 40 countries including the United States, Italy, Russia, Egypt, Libya, India and Japan to the fair. Thirdly, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council is the authoritative institution to issue certificates such as Certificate of Origin and other export documents. It has a databank of foreign buyers and understands their interest in the Chinese market. Fourthly, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council, as the responsibility organ to international exhibitions, is experienced in organizing such exhibitions. It can greatly help the ICIF improve its exhibition quality and make it more suitable for an international audience. Lastly, CCPIT Shenzhen Sub-council organizes the international procurement and negotiation fair for the ICIF every year.(Han Ximin) |
