North China data center planned

    A 21,000-SQUARE-METER Internet data center will be established in the hi-tech park in Laoshan District, which will be the biggest data center infrastructure in Shandong Province.

    In cooperation with China Unicom, the cloud computing center will cost a total of around 500 million yuan and have 4,000 standard computer cabinets.

    The data center will be operated by China Unicom (Qingdao) and the Qingdao Gaoke Telecom Company.

    The data center is expected to gradually become an important medium for the city’s efforts to become the central data city in northern China.

    The data center is also a support infrastructure of a national telecom industrial park in Qingdao.

    The park will be include clusters of research and development, manufacturing and service for the telecom industry.(Li Hao, Lin Gang)
