THE 2011 Qingdao International Sailing Week is scheduled to be held at the city’s Olympic sailing center between Aug. 20 and Sept. 4.

    The event will have eight themed activities covering sailing culture, the sailing boat industry and the promotion of sailing knowledge. In addition, three international sailing matches will be held during the week.

    Dialogues, interviews and forums will also be held during the week to promote Olympic sports and sailing culture.

    Cultural works on the subject of Olympic sailing and international sail will go on display and compete for awards during the week.

    The mascot of the sailing week is named Ali, a design based on sails.(Li Hao, Sun Fei)
